Dans des temps futurs, le climat aux pôles de la planète Terre s’est totalement inversé. Un ours gît sur un sol desséché, plus aride qu’un désert ne l’a jamais été. A quelques pas de lui se dresse un panneau publicitaire planté au milieu de la banquise rocailleuse. L’affiche publicitaire mets en scène un ours en peluche géant buvant un soda avec une grande satisfaction et force réconfort. Assoiffé, Paul s’accroche à ses derniers souffles, rêvant de course légère à travers une vaste étendue glacée, vierge et claire. Dans ses derniers délires, Paul l’ours polaire voit surgir dans l’espace au dessus du désert la flotte de vaisseaux spatiaux des Grands Ours Verts, qui ramène sur Terre la Banquise dans son intégralité originale, fraîche et intacte.
