MENDED (raccommodé en français), c’est l’album estropié puis réparé d’un singer songwriter, qui a laissé sa réalité et le concret de sa vie teinter ses chansons. Sur ce premier opus, ROUUGE a cherché à pousser la sincérité au plus loin et dépose sa folk hors des cases.

C’est un journal intime, à lire les yeux fermés. Un jeune homme court après ses émotions et passe des heures dans une chambre à leur façonner des écrins. Les sept chansons cheminent dans neuf pièces à travers glitches, bruitages et enregistrements spontanés. On n’entend pas l’artiste comme si on était dans la même pièce, mais plutôt comme si on était dans son coeur.

Tout est autoproduit et passe par les même mains. MENDED c’est des coups de chance habilement remaniés, qui donnent des effets inattendus et laissent flotter le disque vers l’expérimental. le clip de Slow en est un bel exemple et offre un un aperçu de la torpeur qui engendre ces chansons.

MENDED is a singer-songwriter’s broken and rebuilt album infused with the artist’s own reality. In the first opus, Rouuge tries to push sincerity to the brink and present us with a version of folk music that is uniquely his own.

It is a diary to be read with eyes shut. A young man chases his emotions and spends hours in his bedroom forging a case for each one. The 7 songs travel through nine spaces collecting glitches, noises and spontaneous recordings. One does not hear the artist as if in the same room but rather lodged in his heart.

Everything is self-made and handled by the same people. MENDED has transformed a series of lucky strikes creating unexpected effects and guiding the music towards the experimental.
The video clip for Slow is a good example of the heaviness that makes these songs.
